The People Who Depend on You Deserve a Plan.

Life insurance isn't something most people enjoy thinking about. But a 15-minute conversation can give your family real protection — and give you the peace of mind that comes with knowing they'll be okay.

Let's Talk About Life Insurance

Most People Put This Off. Here's Why That's Worth Reconsidering.

Life insurance is one of those things people know they should have and keep meaning to get around to. A new baby arrives. You get married. A friend loses a spouse. Something shifts — and suddenly it feels urgent.

The good news is that the earlier you get coverage, the less it costs. Younger, healthier people pay lower premiums. Waiting doesn't protect you from needing it — it just makes it more expensive when you finally get it.

I got into life insurance specifically because I've seen firsthand what a policy means to a family when a loss hits. I started this agency to make sure more families have that protection in place before they need it.

This Is Usually What Brings People In

A New Baby or Growing Family

Your income is the foundation your family's life is built on. If something happened to you, would your partner be able to cover the mortgage, childcare, and everything else on one income? Life insurance answers that question.

Getting Married

When two lives are financially tied together, protecting each other means more than a will. A life insurance policy makes sure your spouse isn't left managing debt and expenses alone.

You've Lost Someone Close

Watching a family navigate a loss without coverage has a way of making the stakes real. We hear this often: someone close passes away, and people start asking questions they should have asked sooner.

You're Carrying Debt

Student loans, a mortgage, in some cases, these don't disappear when you do. A policy sized to cover what you owe protects the people you'd leave behind from inheriting the burden.

What It Actually Pays For.

A life insurance payout is a lump sum your beneficiaries receive when you die. They can use it for whatever they need — and that's the point. Every family's situation is different.

The right coverage amount depends on your income, your debts, your family's needs, and how long you want to provide for them. That's what our conversation is for.

Common uses

  • Replacing lost income so a surviving spouse can maintain the household
  • Paying off a mortgage so the family can stay in the home
  • Covering children's education costs
  • Clearing debts so they don't pass to family members
  • Covering funeral and final expenses

Common Questions About Life Insurance.

What's the difference between term and whole life insurance? +

Term life covers you for a set period — 10, 20, or 30 years. If you die during that term, your beneficiaries receive the payout. Whole life covers you for your entire life and builds cash value over time. It costs more, but it never expires. For most families with dependents and a mortgage, term life is the right starting point. We'll tell you which makes sense after we understand what you're trying to protect.

How much life insurance do I actually need? +

A common starting point is 10–12 times your annual income, but the real number depends on what income your family would need to replace, how much you owe on your mortgage or other debts, how many years your dependents will rely on that income, and whether you want to cover college costs. A conversation with me will give you a much clearer number than any online calculator — because it accounts for your actual situation.

How much does life insurance cost? +

Less than most people expect, especially if you're younger and healthy. A healthy 35-year-old can typically get a $500,000, 20-year term policy for $25–$40 a month. The two biggest factors are your age and your health at the time you apply. Rates go up as you get older — the best time to lock in a rate is when you're young and healthy.

Do I need a medical exam to get coverage? +

Not always. Some policies use accelerated underwriting — they review your health history through databases rather than requiring a physical exam. For larger coverage amounts or certain health histories, a medical exam may be required. It's less involved than people expect — usually a blood draw and basic vitals. We'll tell you upfront what the process looks like.

What if I have a pre-existing health condition? +

It depends on the condition and how it's managed. Many people with conditions like controlled diabetes or high blood pressure can still get coverage — sometimes at standard rates, sometimes with an adjusted premium. The worst thing to do is assume you can't qualify and never ask. We work with multiple carriers, and underwriting standards vary — some are more favorable for specific health situations than others.

I'm young and single with no kids. Do I need life insurance? +

Maybe not yet — but there are situations where it still makes sense: you have a co-signer on student loans or debts, you have aging parents who depend on you financially, or you want to lock in a low rate now while you're healthy. If none of those apply, we'll tell you honestly rather than try to sell you something you don't need.

Can I change my policy later if my life changes? +

Yes, in most cases. Many term policies are convertible — you can switch to permanent coverage later without requalifying medically. You can adjust your beneficiaries at any time, and in some situations you can increase coverage as your needs grow. Life changes — new baby, new house, new debts — are exactly when it makes sense to revisit your coverage.

What should I watch out for when buying life insurance? +

A few things: the contestability period (most policies have a two-year window during which the insurer can investigate a claim if they find misrepresentation on the application — be honest), exclusions for certain causes of death, and agents pushing a specific product before understanding your situation. The best protection is working with someone who's going to tell you what you actually need, not what generates the biggest sale.
